Anixa {3 weeks old} – Pensacola Newborn Photographer
I don’t use color very often in newborn sessions but when I do…
I seriously am infatuated with this family! They are just so gorgeous and their Indian cultural heritage is so different than mine, I’m just beyond intrigued and love it! We did this session in their home located in Pensacola, FL. They had some lovely light in their master with a gorgeous blue wall. I knew we would work in there most of the time. I loved hearing about the traditional Indian culture beliefs and learning meanings and value to certain items like the bangles and sarees. The gold bangles, in a sense, ward off “evil”. They’re so itty bitty and still they just kept sliding off her tiny little hand. I had also shot her big sister’s newborn session almost 2 years ago. Click here to view that gallery. In both sessions we incorporated their traditional dress, called a saree, that mama wears to different parties/celebrations with her family. I’m like… what do I have to do to get invited to one of these parties/celebrations???? It’s so gorgeous!!! She started pulling things out for me to go through and decide if I wanted to use anything. The way she keeps these things stored… Like kid in a candy store. So perfectly folded and separated. And the bangles… clear see-through zippered totes that had like a stain middle running through the bracelets to keep them upright that held a color schemed set of bangels. There was red, green, gold, black, every thing you can possibly imagine. There were about 7-8 rows per tote and she must have had at LEAST a dozen totes. ANYWAYS, hog heaven. I love getting creative in the moment and that shot of Anixa in the middle of the bangles, is like one of my most fave shots ever! Anixa was a dream by the way. Most gorgeous hazel eyes, best eye contact, and super sleepy and chill. Her sister Navya, haha, was well, two. YouknowwhatImean? She definitely made me work to get her to get even near the baby. Her favorite word is no and did not want to participate. But you can seriously not tell in these photos! I always say I speak 2 year old, LOL! I think mama will love them!
